  • Worth a visit! The room and grounds were very tidy and well kept, and the lady that greeted us was very friendly and helpful. The room is well equipped and the en-suite bathroom was lovely. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

  • Weekend Break. We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of nights at Tyn-y-Wern, the location was perfect being only a few minutes walk into Llangollen and Chris made us feel very welcome.

  • Ideal room and location. Spotless modern bathroom, tidy room, tea/coffee or hot chocolate plus, quiet hotel, friendly informative host, convenient position, lovely view. Would stay here again.

  • Delightful place to stay. Llangollen is a wonderful location for a short visit and this hotel was clean, comfortable, welcoming and conveniently placed for the town (about 10 mins' walk). Great views across the valley to the ruined castle high on the hill. Very atmospheric. Had long, peaceful walk along the canal towpath. Highly recommended.

  • A Grand Stay. This was a great find in wonderful countryside. The welcome was warm, the room clean and comfortable and the continental breakfasts were amongst the best that I have ever had.

  • A lovely hotel. This was my first time at the Ty'n-y-Wern and it was a pleasant surprise. The room was tastefully decorated and a reasonable size for a single room. The view from the bedroom window was stunning. Although this is on a main road, the noise from passing traffic was minimal thanks to the double glazing. Only around ten minutes walk into Llangollen which is also a lovely place to visit for a stroll around the shops or a drink and a meal. Overall excellent value for money!!

  • Great little place right by town. The room was a good size and the ensuite was massive. Breakfast was great and the whole experience was lovely. I recommend staying here to anyone looking for a well run hotel close to great scenery.

  • Clean & Comfortable With The Warmest Welcome. After driving up to Bristol on a dreary night, what better way to arrive in Llangollen than with a bright and cheery welcome from Chris.I found this place on Late Rooms and can honestly say it lives up to the write-ups by other enthusiastic reviewers. My room was scrupulously clean, the bedding soft and there were 'normal' size toiletries in the bathroom rather than those ridiculous (and wasteful) small plastic bottles usually on offer. Ty'n-y-Wern offers everything you would get from a top hotel but with the personal touch you get from a family run establishment. The only thing not on offer is food - except for breakfast. To me, this makes complete sense. Who wants to sit in their hotel room to eat an overpriced burger when you can head into one of Llangollen lovely pubs or restaurants for a sup and a bite? The one downside? The mist in the morning stopped me from seeing the gorgeous view I'd been looking forward to. This gives me a good excuse to return!

  • Lovely, friendly welcome by Chris, the room was everything we hoped for, fantastic bed and bedding, bathroom spacious, great decor and big bath with piping hot water to soak in after hard days walking. Felt very private.

  • Ideal place to stay. Great welcome on arrival. Very friendly host. Room with a view, and all facilities you need. Could only stay one night and left early so no breakfast, but have stayed here before, and will certainly return.

  • We have stayed in far more expensive hotels of much less quality than this. Everything was of high standard, from the comfortable beds with extra mattress toppers, to the beautifully tiled bathrooms. The rooms are immaculate and attractively furnished with lovely views. There is spacious carpark which was great because there is practically nowhere to park in Llangollen itself. It is about a 10 to 15 min walk into Llangollen where there are lots of cheap places to eat and 10minutes drive from Llangollen to the magnificent Horseshoe Pass. Ty'n y Wern does not serve meals but we would recommend their substantial healthy and varied breakfast; cereals, fruitjuices, fresh fruit, toast , yoghurt, tea/ coffee ect all beautifully served at the amazingly low price of £5- a much healthier start to the day than the usual hot fat fry. (Best local meal is at the award winning Brittania Hotel at the foot of the Horsehoe Pass.) It is near a main road which didn't intrude and the hotel was a quiet haven to return to after a days walking. Probably the best guest house I have ever stayed at and certainly the best value for money.

  • End of November, I'm cold and miserable after a stressful day at work. Arrived at Ty'n-y-Wern to find an oasis of peace and warmth. My room was a much better standard than most B&B/Small Hotel usually are, with high quality sheets on the bed and a bathroom I'd be happy to have at home. Woke up in the morning to a view across the Vale of Llangollen. My only problem was that I was only staying one night...

  • Our stop over at Llangollen - We found that our room was very comfortable, very clean, as was the laundry etc. The owner was helpful and told us where to eat out in the evening, much appreciated after a long journey. Cannot comment on the continental breakfast as we opted out on that. All in all quite a nice place to stay.
